Super Bowl Bound!!!

The Saints are going to the freaking super bowl for the first freaking time EVER!! I’m so freaking excited right now…I can’t even talk! Seriously, this city has been waiting forever for this. I know I’ve been waiting for this since I was a little boy. I’ve never been much of a sports fan, but I’ve always followed the Saints. There’s something about them…they’re more than just a football team. They have character like no one else. Just an amazing bunch of guys and we have such great fans!!

I can’t even begin to tell you what this city is like right now. I can’t even put it into words. It’s basically like anarchy has broken out, but a peaceful, loving type of anarchy. After the game you could hear fireworks and screams (good screams) coming from neighborhoods everywhere. My entire family was just in one big hug and everyone was crying. This is more than just football to us folks in New Orleans…it represents a lot. Really emotional.

After the game, we get in the car to head uptown and EVERYBODY on the roads is honking their horns like crazy and screaming out their windows :D It was SO much fun. We made a pit stop at Walmart first and the people at Walmart kept screaming Who Dat over the loud speakers :p Needless to say, everyone everywhere is just ecstatic. As am I. And to top off the night, I got on twitter to see that Neil Gaiman said “who dat” tonight too :D

Ah, I’m in such a good mood right now!!!!

Woot Woot! I’m so excited for Drew Brees and The Saints! (though I really do like Petyon Manning). I’m so happy to see the Saints in the Super Bowl.

Man…talk about funny: “peaceful, loving type of anarchy” Didn’t think it was possible!! LOL

I haven’t watched football since I was married… but I am head over heels thrilled for you and I may even watch the superbowl just for you! lol Whatever it takes to feel that happy, even for just a while, is something I wish would happen a lot more often!

Me so happy for you!!!! Rich and I did a lot of yelling and cheering and cussing last night watching the game…all in your honor! :D

I love that the people at Walmart were yelling Who Dat over the intercom. :D I yelled it for you too, only over the dream blog so a limited amount of people will hear me. :D I did watch the 4th quarter and OT of the game though, on mute, not cheering so I wouldn’t jinx you of course. I was excited when you guys won.

I thought of you last night when I heard they’d won!

It’s weird: a couple of weeks ago, me and my father (who is a big football fan) had the following Saints-related conversation:

Me: so, do you think the Saints are going to make it to the Superbowl this year?
Dad: yeah, probably… but wait! How do you know about football?
Me: I follow some Saints fans on Twitter.

My boss at work is a huge Saints fan all his life. He has only missed like 3 home games in the past 15 years. He got home at 1:30 this morning and came to work. lol He was in a great mood all day. For lunch he bought everybody Lenny’s subs and chips. Since I went and got it he bought me a cookie too which he did not know until after but he did not mind. :)

It totally killed me not to watch this game but I was too scared of jinxing them! I am afraid I will jinx them if I watch the Super Bowl game. *cries*
